MS News & Information
A huge shout-out to our MS Science Olympiad team! On Saturday, they were up bright and early to compete at the Frankenmuth Invitational. The meet consisted of 38 individual teams, of which the overwhelming majority were Division 1 schools and specialized STEM academies from across southern Michigan. Despite this being our team's first year, they held their own and defeated Wyandott MS, Roeper MS, MacDonald MS, local rival Laker MS, a team from Saline MS, and both teams from the Advanced Technological Academy of Dearborn.
We also had top 20 finishes in the following events: Ben Proctor and Mason Tippett in the Helicopter event, Claire Guigar and Ben Proctor in Meteorology, and Niklas Richardson and Maddy Franklin in Rocks & Minerals. Several individuals also tried out events to help our team score (with no preparation), and despite the obvious disadvantage, still managed to defeat multiple prepared teams.
We look forward to seeing our team compete at the regional on February 28th with a newfound sense of confidence and experience. We are proud of this for representing our small town and school with pride and sportsmanship. Go Tigers!
