Best High Schools - U.S. News & World Report - National 2025-2026

The Caro Community Schools District is proud to announce that Caro High School has been recognized as one of the Best High Schools in America by U.S. News & World Report in its 2025 national rankings. Caro High School earned the distinction of being ranked the 89th best high school in Michigan — and the highest ranked high school in the Thumb region.

This prestigious honor places Caro High School among the top-performing schools statewide and highlights its commitment to academic excellence, student achievement, and post-secondary preparedness.

The U.S. News & World Report rankings evaluate schools based on a range of performance indicators, including state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, and underserved student performance. Caro High’s placement reflects the dedication of its students, teachers, support staff, and leadership team.

“This is a proud moment for Caro High School and our entire community,” said Matt Branding, Principal of Caro High School. “Being named the best high school in the Thumb and ranking in the top 100 statewide is a testament to the hard work of our students and the passion of our educators. It’s an incredible honor.”

Superintendent George Rierson added: “Caro High School’s recognition by U.S. News & World Report shows that we truly are cultivating excellence in our district. This ranking confirms what we’ve long known — that Caro is a place where students are challenged, supported, and prepared for bright futures.”

Caro Community Schools congratulates the entire Caro High School community — students, families, faculty, and staff — for this outstanding achievement.
